Colorado law (Board of Health rule 6 CCR 1009-2) requires all students attending Colorado schools and licensed child cares to be vaccinated against certain diseases unless an exemption is filed.
Under Colorado law, a student may be exempted from immunizations if they have submitted a signed medical or non-medical exemption certificate.
Students must submit documentation of immunization or exemption
BVSD follows Colorado law requiring all students attending Colorado schools and licensed child cares to be vaccinated against certain vaccine-preventable diseases unless an exemption is filed with the school. Students who are not in compliance with immunization requirements will be excluded from school on October 28, 2022 until their status is compliant.
NOTE: Non-medical exemption requirements
All non-medical exemptions are required by Senate Bill 20-163 to be submitted on the State's Exemption Certification document. Non-medical exemptions will only be accepted in this manner. Please see CDPHE's Vaccine Exemption page for additional information on the new requirement and how to complete it.
You can check your child's immunization compliance status now in the IC Parent Portal under Health.
If you have questions you should discuss your child’s vaccination needs with your health care provider or local public health agency.
